Impact of Hearing Loss on the Quality of Life in Adults with Hearing Impairment

Introduction: Hearing loss is the most common sensory deficit, which can impair exchange of information. The impact hearing may be profound, with consequences for person's social, functional, and psychological well-being. This study aims to assess overall on quality life in adult population.Materials Methods: A cross-sectional was conducted a tertiary care-based hospital. Patients within age range 18-85 years were taken. Two hundred fifty patients presenting ENT-OPD over six months fulfilling inclusive criteria recruited study. All underwent detailed audiological evaluation, including otoscopy, tympanometry, pure tone audiometry two room setup following ANSI standards. Communication difficulties assessed using modified questionnaire from Handicap Inventory Self-Assessment Communication.Results: associated age, gender, profession. severity type significantly handicap self-reported communication difficulties. People severe-profound reported more handicapping conditions than mild-moderate loss. found functional emotional aspects physical ones.Conclusions: reduced life. Identifying individuals supplying appropriate rehabilitation coping strategies positively affect adults.
